According to Mundo Deportivo, Courtois stated that he wants to play for Real Madrid for another four or five years and revealed that he had renewed his contract with the club last year.

Courtois was interviewed by Onda Cero following Belgium's 0-0 draw with Iran. The Belgian goalkeeper discussed both the World Cup and his future at Real Madrid.

Courtois said: "It depends on what the club wants. I respect their decision greatly. I hope to end my career there—in four or five years, we'll see. Obviously, this is my dream. I dreamed of playing here as a child. It's been eight years now, and I'm very happy."

The 34-year-old Courtois also revealed that he renewed his contract with Real Madrid last year, a move that surprised many. He said with a smile: "I renewed my contract sometime last year, but no one knew about it."

Regarding his new contract, which expires in 2027, Courtois added: "First of all, it depends on me—maintaining my level is the most important thing. I need to keep performing and helping the team."

Speaking about the World Cup, Courtois said frankly: "This may be my last World Cup. I don't know what will happen in the future, but I hope the team can go as far as possible and extend this journey."
