Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Dutch right-back star Denzel Dumfries.

Inter Milan released a lengthy statement waving goodbye to the defender who joined from PSV, lifting two Serie A titles in 2024 and 2026.

Part of the statement read: “For Denzel, San Siro and Milano will always be home. The place where that infectious DEN-ZEL DUM-FRIES chant will always ring out, no matter what. You can almost hear it just by reading it.

“Best of luck, Denzel: it has been wonderful winning together!”

The Dutch defender signs with Madrid for a fee of around €20m as he signs a 5 year deal as he joins the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva and Marc Cucurella in making the move to the Spanish capital.

Madrid confirmed the deal on Sunday morning, much to the delight of supporters who are witnessing a huge rebuild under new manager Mourinho.

“Real Madrid C.F. and Inter Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Denzel Dumfries, who will be linked to our club for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030.”

Inter tried to sign Marco Palestra as a replacement for Dumfries but missed out as Chelsea snapped him. They will now scan the transfer market for a fresh face ahead of the new season.
