David Alaba offered to Real Madrid

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has been offered to Real Madrid in the last few days, with the Austrian's contract set to expire at the Allianz Arena in June 2021.

Alaba has been in talks with Bayern over the last few months but has failed to reach an agreement, and now the German club have withdrawn their offer.

For Real Madrid, this is not the first time that they have been offered a player, with Edinson Cavani making clear to those at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu that he would be keen on moving to the club. The same situation has occurred with Alaba.

The issue with bringing in the 28-year-old is that he wants a salary around 20 million euros gross per year. His agent, Pini Zahavi, like his father, is demanding a figure that would make up for the fact that no transfer fee would be paid to Bayern.

This is not the first time that Alaba has been linked a move to Real Madrid, but the difference is that before it was his father who acted as his agent, whereas now it is the super-agent Pini Zahavi.

The problem that Alaba could find is that Real Madrid are not willing to pay salaries in the region that he wants at this time, given the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, he is a player that is highly thought of, especially given his versatility: he can play at centre-back, left-back and central midfield.

In fact, Los Blancos are not considering making any signings in the January transfer window as they have not budgeted for it, so Alaba would have to arrive next summer.

Zahavi has a good relationship with Real Madrid, but the same cannot be said with Bayern, with the agent having clashed with the German club's directors over the last few months.
