Frenkie de Jong has answered his coach's call to step up on the offensive end, but the Barcelona midfielder has also shown that he still has lots to learn.
Ronald Koeman wanted his players in the middle of the park to contribute more in attack, and De Jong has now scored three goals in the last month after just netting twice all of last season.
The former Ajax player scored with a brilliant header against Real Sociedad in the Supercopa de Espana semi-final, but in the same match also demonstrated some naivety, such as the handball that allowed Mikel Oyarzabal to equalise.
The 23-year-old, known for his composure and vision, is a key cog in Koeman's system and has been adding to his game, scoring three and assisting two in the last month.
At the same time, however, we have seen that De Jong needs to make some defensive improvements which will no doubt come with age and experience.
The Netherlands international will be hoping his newfound influence in attack will stand out in Sunday's Supercopa final against Athletic Club.

He confused us in last game... scoring the most wanted goal, he was the reason for sociedad's goal, and missed the penalty in shootout... but total performance was superb
