Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera took advantage of an interview with television network 'TNT Sports' to talk about the current situation of two of the great stars who dominate world soccer: Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal.

The current Boca Juniors player, who shared a dressing room with the Argentine at PSG, was clear when asked which of the two current players is more decisive in the game.

"For me, a player like Lionel Messi will never come again. Lamine Yamal is probably the closest thing to him that I've seen so far. I mean from an aesthetic point of view, in the game and even in certain little details, you can notice similarities," commented the midfielder who played 14 games with the Albiceleste captain in Ligue 1.

Herrera also specified what he based his words on to express the above opinion. "Not only because both play with the left foot, but also in their individual dribbling. However, I think that throughout his career, Messi has been more inclined towards the collective game and creation, while Lamine seems more focused on individual confrontations and one-on-one situations to break down defenses."

Herrera's preference over Messi is based on the fact that the Argentine's innate quality is something that cannot be learned and that this is what makes him different from other players.

"It's true that Messi has both qualities: he can dribble and play in a team with the same effectiveness, and no matter what position he occupies on the field, he stands out. That is a very rare quality," explained the player born in Bilbao.

The former Zaragoza, Athletic Bilbao and Manchester United player concluded with a blunt phrase: "There will never be a player like Messi".
