According to Mundo Deportivo, former French international Dugarry strongly supported Mbappe, stating that the problem lies more with Real Madrid.

There is no doubt that Mbappe is one of the most watched players in this tournament. Now, the forward has become a huge threat to Spain in the semi-finals, which contrasts with his situation at Real Madrid this season.
Although Mbappe scored 42 goals for Real Madrid, the team's overall poor performance this season also affected him, and he received a lot of criticism as a result. If the Spanish want to criticize Mbappe, they should also criticize Bellingham, Vini Jr., and all the players who participated in the World Cup and performed much better in their national teams. But if everyone performs better in their national teams, then the problem lies more with Real Madrid."

Madrid isn't build for possession based football like barca or City,they're for build for quick vertical transitional play (counter attack).
