Egypt coach Hassan said that the Egyptian team has brought smiles back to the faces of the Egyptian people, and fans have rallied around the team again following its excellent performance in terms of spirit, level, and results.
Hassan pointed out that the technical team has received full support from the FA board, whether from the previous board chaired by Gamal Allam or the current board chaired by Hany Abou Rida, which he considers one of the main reasons for the recent success.
He saluted Egyptian fans at home and abroad, thanking them for their consistent support of the Egyptian team, and emphasized that the fans deserve the team's efforts to make them happy.
Hassan said that he selects players based solely on their on-field performance, without considering other factors. He said: "My advice to youth team players is that the national team is your first step toward a professional career. Clubs are important, but the national team comes first."
Hassan continued: "I don't consider specific ages or specific teams; only on-field performance matters to me. Claims that I was pressured when selecting Barcelona player Hamza Abdelkarim for the 2026 World Cup are untrue, and the player has also benefited from participating in the World Cup with the team."
Hassan went on to say: "My advice to young players is to take Salah as a role model. I believe our national team captain benefited greatly from playing in the number 10 and 9 positions during the World Cup." He added: "Other players have also benefited, renewing their contracts with clubs, and some have seen their market value increase due to participating in the World Cup, which is natural, and I'm pleased about that."
On dual-nationality players, Hassan said: "We attach great importance to professional players based outside Egypt, including those with dual nationality."
Hassan also said: "Why do people always prefer to hire foreign coaches when I have excellent Egyptian coaches available? Foreign coaches want to work under ideal conditions; they cannot adapt to existing conditions, unlike local coaches." He stated: "The point is that coaches who truly deserve the position should be hired."
Hassan disagreed with major Egyptian clubs relying on foreign coaches. He said: "I'm surprised that some clubs complain about player fatigue. How is that possible? Every squad has 35 players."
He added: "Egypt is not a small country; we are a great nation. I always tell the players this before World Cup matches. For example, before facing Argentina, I told them not to focus on the opponent, but on the Egyptian national team jersey they are wearing."
Hassan continued: "When foreign coaches come, they want to stay in hotels, which costs at least 500,000 Egyptian pounds per day. But after we opened the Football House—referring to the Al-Hadaf project—we began training there, and we are satisfied because everything is accessible to us."
