Eibar 0-1 Atletico: Lemar winner helps Atleti open up 7-point gap on Real Madrid

Without the suspended Diego Costa and Antoine Griezmann, it was Thomas Lemar who scored a late winner for Atletico Madrid at Eibar.

Thomas Lemar scored late as Atletico Madrid kept their slim LaLiga title hopes alive with a 1-0 win at Eibar.

Atletico seemed set to be held at Ipurua on Saturday and hand runaway leaders Barcelona a further advantage, but instead they cut the gap to six points.

Marko Dmitrovic made fine saves to deny Angel Correa and Diego Godin but the Eibar goalkeeper could do nothing about Atleti's 85th-minute winner.

After a spell of head tennis, Nikola Kalinic sent Koke clear in the right channel and his low cross was tapped in at the back post by Lemar.

Dmitrovic makes a fine save with his feet to deny Correa from close range, after the Atletico man was played through on goal by Morata and just had the keeper to beat. Correa tried to slot it into the bottom corner, but the Eibar keeper read it well.

Eibar almost open the scoring just a minute after the restart! Jordan whips a free-kick into the box and Enrich meets it, trying to power it into the far corner of the net, but he doesn't quite get enough on it and it flies just wide.

Atletico finally manage to break the deadlock late on, it's 1-0! It came from a long hopeful ball forward that was flicked on and then Morata played Koke through, who squared the ball to Lemar in the penalty area, who tapped the ball in from just a couple of yards out..
