Eibar vs Madrid: A chance to move clear of Barca and to close in on the leader

The final game of Matchday 14 will see Real Madrid visit Eibar's Estadio Ipurua on Sunday night, with a crucial three points up for grabs. By winning in the Basque Country, Los Blancos could move eight points ahead of Barcelona - although the Catalan club do have a game in hand.

Looking further up the table, these three points would also move Zinedine Zidane's men back level on 29 points with leaders Atletico Madrid - although, in this case, Los Colchoneros would have played two fewer games than their city rivals.

Zidane will be hoping his side can keep up their recent run of good form, as they've won four matches in a row and have done so with a fairly defined line-up.

The coach has said that he will rotate at some point, but there's a good chance that he could keep the team mostly the same for this game. Casemiro is back from suspension and Vinicius is out due to sickness, but Zidane isn't expected to make many more changes than those necessary adjustments.

Up against Real Madrid will be an Eibar side looking for their first home win of the season. They've played seven times at home so far this campaign and are currently experiencing their worst home form since their promotion to LaLiga Santander in 2014.

With just one home goal in 630 minutes, Jose Luis Mendilibar knows his team need to improve in attack.

It won't be easy, though, as Eibar have several absences for this match. Paulo Oliveira and Rober Correa are injured, while Esteban Burgos is suspended, so they have several players missing from their defence.

To solve this, Sergio Alvarez could move from midfield to central defence, or Anaitz Arbilla could move from left-back to central defence.

Mendilibar is likely to opt for the same system that worked so well in last weekend's draw away at Real Sociedad, with Takashi Inui and Bryan Gil out wide. Even though they're going up against the champions, the Basque side will try to play their game as they seek what would be a famous result.
