Barcelona are set to complete the signing of Emerson Royal from Real Betis, with Juan Miranda set to move in the opposite direction on a permanent basis.
The Catalan club will only have a percentage of the rights to Emerson, with Joan Laporta set to complete the buyout of 80 percent of the right-back's rights for nine million euros before the May 31 deadline.
The 22-year-old will join up with Brazil for the Copa America this summer after being called up to their senior squad as a replacement for the injured Dani Alves.
After Emerson completes his move to the Camp Nou, Betis will continue to own 20 percent of his rights and 50 percent of any future transfer fee.
The idea is for the full-back to join up with Barcelona for pre-season, with Ronald Koeman to decide on his future before the end of the summer transfer window.
If Barcelona don't pay the fee for Emerson before June 1, they will instead hand Miranda a new two-year contract extension and an opportunity to play in the first team.
Miranda to stay at Betis
Barcelona, though, are expected to complete the deal for Emerson, leaving Miranda to join Betis on a permanent basis.
The 21-year-old has been at Betis on loan from Barcelona this season and has reached an agreement in principle to stay in Seville beyond this summer.
Los Verdiblancos have already reached an agreement to sign goalkeeper Rui Silva on a free from Granada this summer.
