Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi has confirmed that Juventus are on the verge of signing midfielder Hamed Traore.
Traore had been close to signing for Fiorentina, but a change in ownership at the Artemio Franchi put that deal on the backburner.
He is now set to join Juve, although not for long as he is expected to be loaned to Sassuolo, in part exchange for defender Merih Demiral.
“We’re working to close the deal with Juve. Everything is set, we’re just missing the signatures now,” Corsi told Tuttomercatoweb.
“He was just a hot prospect in January, but in the last five months he’s grown an awful lot and he’s now showing his true potential.
“He’s a complete footballer and I think he’s destined to have a great career.”
The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for Empoli, despite their relegation, scoring twice in 33 appearances.
Gazzetta dello Sport writes he will pen a five-year contract with the Bianconeri, who will pay €12m up front plus €3m in bonuses.

not that I dont like his talent, but I wouldnt be shocked to see him turn into one of those guys we buy and then sell for a profit a couple years down the road to help the books.... with him never suiting up for Juventus

He had a deal with Fiorentina in January but they did not manage to deposit the contract before the deadline. Good signing for us.

Great news. I remember watching the Empoli game a few months back and thinking "their #8 sure is impressive." Cool to see that we've signed him. Between Kean, Traore, Demiral, Romero, and Bentancur, we've got a promising crop of youngsters.

Traore is going to be on loan from Juve for the rest of his life while Sensi will lift the scudetto with Milan, think about who's better

I still believe in Pep, my point was if Sorry comes, Traore won't get loned out.

Did Fiorentina not do so because they didn't have the money? Or they thought they could wait? Either way Traore would have played there. Hard to expect the same at Juve.

Traore is better than Krunic. Traore will probably be loaned out as he won't start at Juve, who are stacked.

Juve are great at securing talents within Italy, but struggle elsewhere. Demiral, Traore, Romero, Chiesa, Bernardeschi, the list goes on.

There midfield was very good this season, isn't Traore going to juve as well and he wasn't there best either lol just saying, you aren't a sporting director or am not so let the people do there job

Nice to see the Empoli trio get the credit they deserve. Traore to Juve, Krunic to Milan + Bennacer will make the move shortly.

Good to invest on those young players. Loaning then out and be able to evaluate their growth. If they don’t fit expectations we can win some money.

I don’t know what Juventus are up to . one month after firing useless Allegri they haven’t appointed a new coach. They are so behind in the transfer market and all the rumors associated with them are absolutely awful. Hope they appoint a coach this week and get to do what they do best at the transfer market. I m still waiting for whatever announcement they will make on the 14th. Hope it’s a great one ☝️
