Endrick worried Real Madrid game time will affect World Cup call-up

Endrick says he is "worried" that his lack of game time at Real Madrid could see him miss out on a place in Brazil's 2026 World Cup squad.

The youngster announced himself on the world stage by scoring his first international goal in a friendly against England in March 2024, shortly before signing for Madrid.

However, since joining Los Blancos, he has struggled to cement a place under Carlo Ancelotti, making just four starts across all competitions, with none of those coming in LaLiga.

Overall, he has played 496 minutes across 28 appearances and netted six goals, outperforming his 4.72 expected goals (xG).

As such, he was initially omitted from Dorival Junior's squad for the March international break, though he was called up to replace Neymar, who was forced to drop out through injury.

With one goal in his mind, Endrick conceded he is concerned that his lack of game time could affect his chances of playing at next year's tournament.

"To be honest, what goes through my head a lot is that I'm afraid of not being at the 2026 World Cup," he said in an interview with Romario.

"I'm worried… because it's my dream to be at World Cup. It's even difficult to speak about that.

"I want go help Brazil to win the sixth World Cup."

Endrick was an unused substitute as Brazil beat Colombia 2-1 in their World Cup qualifier on Thursday, with Argentina next up for the Selecao on Tuesday.
