Espanyol's Wu Lei becomes first Chinese footballer positive for coronavirus

Wu Lei, who plays for Espanyol in La Liga, is the only Chinese player from one of the top five major European football leagues, and he became the first Chinese professional footballer to be tested positive for COVID-19.

Chinese FA releases an official statement and confirms Wu Lei is among those 6 players & staffs from Espanyol who tested positive for coronavirus:

"As we are informed by RCD Espanyol, China national team player Wu Lei is confirmed to be infected by coronavirus. The player has mild symptom and is receive treatment."
