Palmeiras midfielder Felipe Melo gave an interview to the newspaper 'Clarín' in which he shows his favor to Messi and revealed how they tried to stop the Argentine captain when at Brazil national team.

"Messi is a unique player. When we are with the Brazilian national team and played against him, we said 'we have to kick him once each, we have to take turns.' I'm not saying kicking him to hurt him, it is a tactical faul, cutting his pace, making him bothered.” said Felipe Melo, who called Messi 'the best in history' and filled him with praise.

"I can't say anything about Pelé because I didn't see him play. And from Maradona I have the memory of the 90 World Cup when they beat Brazil with the goal of Caniggia. Also people in Brazil say that Zico is better than everyone, but I first saw him play was in his farewell, in Maracanã. Then I can't say that Pelé, Maradona or Zico are phenomena to me. I saw Messi play and it's amazing," said the veteran footballer, who also wanted to make it clear that the comparison with Cristiano Ronaldo wins Messi.

"(Messi is) more than Cristiano Ronaldo because Cristiano can score 5 goals, but Messi scores 5 goals and besides he also makes his teammates to score, he is more complete", added a Felipe Melo.
