FC Barcelona targets five new names for summer window

FC Barcelona is already preparing for a crucial summer transfer window despite its strong season under Hansi Flick. While the club still dreams of a La Liga and UEFA Champions League double, the management led by Joan Laporta and Deco is actively working behind the scenes.

Two major priorities have emerged: Julián Álvarez, seen as the ideal successor to Robert Lewandowski, and Alessandro Bastoni, the left-footed defender requested to strengthen the backline. However, both deals would require significant financial effort, with Álvarez alone valued between €80 and €100 million.

Alongside these ambitious targets, Barça is also exploring more affordable options to balance its squad and comply with Financial Fair Play. The club is closely monitoring Andrea Cambiaso to reinforce the left-back position, especially with uncertainty surrounding João Cancelo. Alejandro Grimaldo also remains an attractive option due to his experience and potential availability at a reasonable price. In attack, Marcus Rashford is under consideration, with a possible deal estimated around €30 million, depending on Manchester United’s stance.

Barcelona is also looking at younger and strategic profiles to build for the future. Jan Virgili, currently impressing at Mallorca, could return through a buy-back clause, while Andreas Schjelderup is being tracked as a promising attacking option. In goal, despite Joan Garcia’s strong performances, the club could move for Alex Remiro to replace Wojciech Szczesny if he leaves. This mix of star targets and smart signings reflects Barça’s strategy to remain competitive while managing its financial constraints ahead of a decisive summer.
