Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive tell-all interview slating Manchester United proves Lionel Messi's the GOAT, fans reckon.

A decades long debate has raged about who the 'greatest of all time' is between the two football icons, with fans often split over who grabs the top spot. But after Ronaldo's latest petulant antics, Messi's the clear winner in the eyes of public.

Ronaldo brutally ripped into his employers to Piers Morgan whilst donning a grey suit, white t-shirt, and matching trainers. And that's not behaviour Messi would ever engage in, which puts him head and shoulders above his Portuguese rival, fans claimed on Twitter.

One supporter fumed: "Messi was always the GOAT but this just proves it. Would never catch the GOAT sitting down in a blazer crying doing podcast interviews. smh." And another echoed a similar sentiment, saying: "Messi vs Ronaldo. Messi is now the victor on every level."

Messi's the victor out of the pair when it comes to Ballon d'Or awards where he's won seven, compared to Ronaldo's five. The Argentine also trumped Ronaldo's goal contribution in the Champions League this season with 85 strikes, ahead of Ronaldo's tally of 73.

They've also had contrasting seasons at their respective clubs as Messi's flourishing at Paris Saint-Germain while Ronaldo can hardly get a look in at United, leading to his ill-timed interview.

Messi's banged in 12 goals in 19 games across all competitions thus far, and his incredulous form has prompted PSG to try and extend his contract at the end of the season when it ends. On the contrary, Ronaldo's netted just three strikes in 16 matches, and United can't wait to see the back of him.

Ronaldo's fall from grace has seen some fans place Newcastle's prospering star Miguel Almiron above him on the best-ever list. One fan announced: "Ronaldo not the goat no more we reppin Almiron now."

The bold declaration comes after Almiron scooped the Player of the Month award for October. The Paraguayan star has come into his own after being slated by Jack Grealish last season, but he insists Grealish's jibe didn't motivate him to step up his game.
