Paco Alcacer stayed in Germany and won't be at Lucien Favre's disposal for Borussia Dortmund's game against Barcelona on Wednesday night.
However, the Swiss coach praised the former Barcelona striker's finishing skills and has highlighted his decent performances in the first stretch of the season.
"Unfortunately, [Alcacer] hasn't been able to come [to Barcelona]," Favre said at Dortmund's pre-match press conference.
"He has a knee injury and has stayed at home.
"At the beginning of the season he played very well and scored many goals. He is effective in front of goal."
Favre went on to discuss the way his team should approach the game at the Camp Nou and make the most out of it.
"We always have pressure, no matter where you play," he added.
"If you play against Barcelona, it is very difficult. We are very excited to play this game. We want to play well.
"We must defend well and play up front with courage and intelligence.
"In the first game, we played very well and had a lot of chances.
"We defended well, we were patient and it was an excellent game which we could have won."

I really wanted paulo to come to camp nou and score a goal. If Dortmund ever scored one I'd be happy if it had been him. After all he's ex Barca
