Real Madrid star Federico Valverde has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer amid interest from Chelsea and Liverpool

Real Madrid have fended off interest in Federico Valverde so far during the summer transfer window. Liverpool and Saudi Arabian sides Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli are said to have had offers for the Uruguayan midfielder rejected by Madrid - but it seems Chelsea are ready to test the Spanish giants' resolve with a huge bid.

Mauricio Pochettino is looking to sign one or two midfielders ahead of next season. Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and N'Golo Kante have already left Stamford Bridge this summer.

Moises Caicedo remains the Blues' priority target, but talks with Brighton have proved unsuccessful so far. Now, Valverde is the latest name to be linked with a switch to Chelsea and football.london has rounded up all the latest news and gossip around the 25-year-old's future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Chelsea prepare £112m offer

Spanish publication Nacional states that the Blues are now interested in bringing Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde to Stamford Bridge this summer. Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is said to have prepared a bid of €130million (£112million) to sign Valverde in an effort to Madrid president Florentino Perez's resolve. The report adds that the Blues are prepared to quintuple Valverde’s salary to make him one of the best paid players in the Premier League.

Liverpool bid and Saudi Arabia interest

Spanish publication Nacional states Real Madrid have rebuffed approaches for the Uruguay international with Liverpool said to have made an €80million (£68million) offer, while Saudi Arabian sides Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli both offered €100million (£85million).

Real Madrid stance

Real Madrid and Federico Valverde are not looking to part ways this summer, despite strong interest in the versatile Uruguay star, according to 90min.

Valverde is widely regarded as one of Real's most important players following a breakout season, but speculation over his future has ensued given summer arrivals of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler, and the ongoing possibility of also signing PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.
