During the training camp, Fermín was interviewed on Catalunya Ràdio's "Tot Costa" program, where he reflected on his recovery process and admitted he had experienced the "worst summer" of his career.
Fermín said: "I feel better every day and have no discomfort, which is a very good sign. If all goes well, I might get some playing time in the Gamper Trophy, and I'm already very eager to play."
Fermín admitted that suffering an injury at the peak of his career, just before the World Cup, was a heavy blow: "This was the worst summer of my career. I was in top form, everything was going well, but then I suffered this ill-timed injury. I learned a lot, but the process was very difficult. Thanks to my family, partner, and friends, I was able to get through it."
"At first, I couldn't watch the games because I also longed to play there, and I couldn't even move my feet. Later, I felt better and was very happy for the Spanish team, especially for my teammates at Barcelona."
After overcoming the most difficult period, Fermín knows what the next step must be: to return to his best form and help the team make a breakthrough in European competitions. "My plan is to come back with motivation and energy. Last season, I already proved what I can contribute to the team, and now I must continue to improve. We all want the Champions League. We've come very close in these two years, and I think this year could be the time. Many of us players have been together for many years and have gone through a lot, both good and bad. I believe we are ready to win the Champions League, win the league again, and fight for every title."
During the interview, Fermín praised the quality of the entire team and specifically singled out two players who impressed him the most during the early training sessions in England: "Many teammates surprised me because they are all excellent, but the ones who impressed me the most were Tonkara and Orian-Glenn."
