Filipe Luis: I'll support the team wearing red in the Champions League final

Many Atletico Madrid supporters will be hoping Liverpool beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final, just as Filipe Luis will be supporting Jurgen Klopp's men.

Even though he briefly played for Real Madrid Castilla, the Brazilian is rooting against the Spanish side.

"I'll be supporting the team in red because that's the colour of my team," he said.

He also previewed the World Cup and spoke about Brazil's chances.

"It doesn't mean anything if we say we're going to win, as all that matters is what we do on the pitch," he said.

"We'll do all we can so that the people who place their life's hope in a club or in the national team can feel proud of us."

For Filipe Luis, it's something of a miracle that he'll be going to Russia, given that he fractured his leg just a few months ago.

"I was working hard and seeing that my hard work was paying off and I believe I am here because God helped me to be here," he said of his rapid recovery.

"I feel privileged.

"I always said it would be possible to recover in time.

"I told my wife that she wouldn't see me much for two months because I would be working so hard to recover.

"I now go to the World Cup in a great moment, both physically and mentally."

This will be the left-back's first World Cup of his career.
