Flick was awarded the 2026 Honorary Rambla Award on Tuesday. Barcelona's first vice president, Rafael Yuste, accepted the award on his behalf at the Saló de Cent (Hall of One Hundred) in Barcelona City Hall.
The ceremony took place in the afternoon and was attended by Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni and Alex Baylle, president of the Amics de la Rambla association, among others. As Flick could not attend, the award was presented to Yuste.
Flick recorded a thank-you video that was played at the ceremony. "Good evening everyone, I am deeply honored to receive this award. Barcelona is a very special city to me, and its people are truly remarkable. From the first day I arrived, I felt a lot of love, and I am very proud to be part of this club and this city. Although I couldn't be there in person, I wish you all a wonderful evening."
He then added in Catalan: "Moltes gràcies, Visca el Barça, Visca Catalunya."
The award is closely linked to the city of Barcelona. The reasons for it include both on-field performance and off-field contributions. The Amics de la Rambla association recognized Flick's work since he joined Barcelona in 2024.
The most prominent reason is his commitment and consistent performance with the Blaugrana. Since his arrival, Flick has led the team to five titles and to the Champions League semifinals in 2025. His impact is clear, and it has made him beloved by fans.
