Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue could be handed a career lifeline by LA Galaxy - two years after he last played professional football
The Ivorian is determined to make a return to the game after his comeback bid with Sunderland in 2016 was ended by a 12-month ban imposed by FIFA for failing to pay a former agent.
Medical issues then prevented the right-back from joining Cypriot outfit Ocagi Liamsol in October of last year.
The 35-year-old was left broke following a divorce and revealed last year that his battle with depression had left him contemplating suicide.
However, MLS side LA Galaxy are now contemplating offering Eboue a route back into the game, believing his experience could be valuable.
Eboue has been out of professional football for two years, although he played in an Arsenal Legends game in June.
Speaking to Canal in July, he said: 'All I want is to return to football once more. I still possess ability.
'I would even go to places like Baghdad or Pakistan just to play football. I don't care where.
'I live with my bags already packed, as there is a chance I could be kicked out of my house.
'I don't have anyone by my side nowadays. I feel abandoned. I used to get on well with my children and my family, and now I am completely alone.'

A lesson for other professional athletes to learn from. To be back where he is after playing for a club like Arsenal is absolutely astonishing. What about his former club mates? Can’t they at least get a place for him to live ? This whole issue is ridiculous. Footballers have a lot of friends and club mates. It’s shocking how he’s been left to go through all of this alone.
