Franck Kessie doesn’t seem like your classic player, at least when it comes to shirt numbers. The midfielder wore the 98 shirt at Atalanta in their youth team. When going pro at Cesena he had the No 30. Then, back at Atalanta, he was down to the 19.
That’s the most normal number he’s had in his career, because after moving to AC Milan, he wore the No 79 for the last five seasons.
On the opposite side is the other new arrival, Andreas Christensen. He has always preferred the No 3 or No 4 shirt, although they are occupied by Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo at Barcelona, so he’ll have to opt for something new too.
