Franco Vazquez is an eternal mystery

Football fans tend to be divided in their tastes and opinions, something that is no more true than in Franco Vazquez's case at Sevilla.

El Mudo is entering his fourth season at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan this summer, and Julen Lopetegui knows that he needs to have a place for the Argentine in his team.

As things stand, Vazquez is aware that he needs to work to have a spot in Lopetegui's starting XI, and should Luis Alberto arrive he'll have even more competition for playing time.

But the player is already into his 30s and has just two years remaining on his contract, so if he is to leave it likely has to come this summer.

Vazquez caused a surprise on Saturday when he posted on social media, echoing a sentence uttered by Juan Roman Riquelme.

"Sometimes I listen to the stands and run more," he said.

"I think everyone does it. You prepare, you run every day and then end up in a marathon, but playing football is more complicated."
