UEFA have confirmed that 35-year-old François Letexier will be in charge of Sunday’s showpiece final at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.
UEFA have announced the name of the match official who will oversee Sunday’s 2024 European Championship final in Berlin as Spain face England. 35-year-old Frenchman François Letexier has been appointed as the key match official after his home nation France were eliminated by Luis de la Fuente’s side in the Munich semi-final.
Letexier has been an international referee since 2017 and has already refereed 65 official UEFA matches during this time and at Euro 2024 was the lead referee in the Spain-Georgia, Denmark-Serbia and Croatia-Albania matches. The Bédée was also the fourth official in the tournament opener back on 14 June as Germany faced Scotland in Munich.
Last season, Letexier took charge of ten international matches, and was the fourth official in the 2024 UEFA Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Madrid at Wembley. He was also the main referee for the 2023 UEFA Super Cup 2023 between Manchester City and Sevilla held in Greece in August of last year.
