Zinedine Zidane and Gareth Bale's relationship is a peculiar one, as they've won so much together but there have also been many bumps in the road.
In the coach's final match before temporarily leaving in 2018, Real Madrid met Liverpool in the Champions League final in Kiev and Bale was a substitute.
There was no trust in him, but then the Welshman came on and changed the game as Los Blancos won a third European title in a row.
Even after the victory, Bale spoke in post-match interviews about needing to talk to his representatives to sort out his future.
Then Zidane departed and Bale must have thought he'd won the battle, but the Frenchman returned on March 11, 2019.
After featuring in the first eight matches after Zidane returned to the dugout of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, the forward then wasn't selected for the final three matches of the season.
Given that he also didn't feature against Bayern Munich in Houston on Saturday night, Bale's most recent minutes with Real Madrid were in the 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano on April 28.
The fact Bale didn't get on the coach with the rest of the team afterwards, as he had to catch a flight, didn't seem to help matters that night in Vallecas.
His agent Jonathan Barnet has been involved throughout with a number of public statements and it seems that the player's intention is to stay and to see out the rest of his three-year contract, which comes with 17 million euros in salary.
On July 8, he was there for the start of pre-season, which was exactly what Zidane didn't want.
Bale went to Montreal with the team, but then didn't feature in the first match of the summer and Zidane made his position clear afterwards.
There aren't many offers for Bale, but transfers to Tottenham or to a Chinese club are possibilities.
The former would be the better option for Real Madrid as they could collect a transfer fee, while the latter could be the optimal option for the player as he would have a chance of maintaining his salary.
It's not clear where he'll be next season, but it is clear that Zidane isn't counting on Bale and that their relationship has soured even further.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hazard is treated like this. CR7 and now Bale.

This message is very much clear on the last paragraph, Bale is no longer needed by zidane and their relationship has soured despite what has happened in the past wining the champions league still he never trusted him so the best way is just to leave the club and go somewhere else where he will be free.
