Former Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis fainted during Galatasaray's game on Sunday, but was allowed to continue playing.
Gomis appeared to lose consciousness but was given permission to return to the field by medics during the game against Kasimpasa.
The incident occurred in the seventh minute of the game as Gomis fell to his knees before eventually collapsing to the ground as players lined up for a Galatasaray corner.
In 2009 Gomis was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope, a form of low blood pressure.
That year, he collapsed during a training camp with the France national team and also fainted on three other occasions that year.
In addition, Gomis fainted during Swansea's game against Tottenham in 2015.
The 32-year-old can temporarily lose consciousness at certain moments when a trigger leads to his heart rate and blood pressure suddenly dropping.
Gomis has scored 20 goals in 26 appearances for Galatasaray in all competitions since he joined the club last summer.
After joining Swansea from Marseille in 2014, Gomis scored 17 goals in 71 appearances for the Welsh club.

Honestly,as a galatasaray fan, I really love this guy he is excellent scored many goals this season but I think he should take a time out as he has heart problems as well as this problem, even though he said that this isn’t a type of illness I personally think he should take a break

lol he faints like i do when I'm too broke to afford a Big Mac. All joking aside, this man is special. Something you don't see often in players. It's a shame that his health isn't very well, but sir, you have my respect.

He is a good player in a good game, but life is precious,He should learn from Barca Vidal not to end up like Marc Vivian For and Tiote....Health precaution first

20 goals in 26 matches is amazing, clearly he odds value to the team, what can you say? he has a passion for Football so i dont think he is going to retire because of this. Clearly he is a fighter...just hope there isnt a tragic ending to this story #GodBless

Just so people know, Gomis has a condition that causes him to faint when under stress. Obviously him fainting isn't ideal but it's much less dangerous for him than if any other player without his condition randomly collapsed during a game!

Remember it happened at least once when he was with us but I can't remember if he was subbed

He first slowed down in Kasımpaşaspor box and the fell down and passed out for 10 minutes. Then he told the team doctor that he's fine and continued playing.

I feel like he should have been subbed off to avoid any risk because the player probably almost always wants to keep on playing.

hope he gets some test done, but it can also be cause of dehydration and other factors outside the heart. If in fact vasovagal syncope, not usually a big deal fortunately

It's pretty scary at first especially if you've never had one but pretty harmless in the end, Gomis does seem to do one of those often though.

If it's going to happen to him regardless, I'd do what I love and have a great life as a footballer.

The majority of Swans fans were almost collapsing after most of his 'performances'

Why not quit. What's more important? Staying alive vs....money!

Stay well big boy. It's scary to see a player collapse in the pitch.

It has happened before. Something should be done before his condition grows.

This is like the 3rd time I have read about him collapsing, I know he has some sort of illness that he had to deal with but it's still scary to watch a player collapsing.

Bafetimbi Gomis fainted during Galatasaray’s Super Liga clash with Kasimpasa but after a check by the medics he was back on the field just moments later...

This is a strange condition. How can the blood pressure of an athlete who is running all around the place drop. I thought it should be up because of the intense pressure on the body as a result of running continuously.

Thank God the situation wasn't worse than this have seen lots of players faint on pitch sadly they couldn't recover... Am glad he made it! he needs some time to rest and improve himself if he doesn't want something like that to ever happen again.
