The Barcelona coach Valverde has been recognized for his career as a player and coach at Espanyol.

Ernesto Valverde, who has confessed this afternoon that he wants Espanyol to remain in La Liga, retains a door at the Estadi RCDE Stadium in recognition of his work as a player and coach at Espanyol.

Valverde has played at Espanyol for four seasons. From 1996 to 1998 he was a player and from 2006 to 2008 he was a coach. He played two UEFA Cup finals, but lost the two: as a player to Bayer Leverkusen in 1988 and as coach at Glasgow against Sevilla in 2007, both for penalties.
