This time it's been confirmed: Pep Segura will leave Barça.
According to sources close to the situation, it's "a matter of days, or even hours" before it's made official. The mutual agreement with the club brings an end to his role as the General Manager of Barcelona. SPORT sources confirm that an agreement to end his association with the club is complete, although it's still lacking the relative signatures on the document.
There are various reasons as to why this decision has been made but the most significant one appears to be the expected appointment of Patrick Kluivert as the new La Masia Director. This announcement, revealed exclusively by SPORT, will also be made official very soon.
Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu is currently in Japan but he's given his okay to Segura's departure and it could be confirmed without him attending.
Segura has told those closest to him about the decision and feels his time at Barça has run its course. The favourite to replace Segura is none other than Eric Abidal, who still hasn't given the club an answer. Abidal had a good relationship with Segura and is deciding whether or not to take up the club's offer.
Following the exit of Jordi Mestre, Segura's main supporter, it opened up a can of worms at the club. Bartomeu asked Segura to reconsider his decision and convinced him to stay until at least the end of the transfer window. Now it appears nothing - or no one - can convince Segura to stay.

I have started to like Bartomeu as I used to hate him. Him and Segura destroyed our status of more than a club and Segura is the reason why La Masia is less important now. Bartomeu has definitely realised his mistakes and we are slowly bringing our style back. I know most of us don't like him because he supports Valverde but I'm very sure he'll change his tactics and play OUR way... Valverde doesn't stick to one philosophy and he is willing to adapt and that's the only thing I like about him... Hopefully we some changes to the type of football we play and then achieve to get the results we want... #ForcaBarca
