Goodbye Keylor Navas, Real Madrid's goalkeeper for three UCL triumphs

Keylor Navas leaves Spain as a Real Madrid legend.

The Costa Rican will always be remembered as the goalkeeper for Los Blancos' three consecutive Champions League triumphs.

All of the club's recent glory came with Keylor between the sticks, something that Zinedine Zidane has always recognised.

Keylor arrived at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu from Levante in July 2014, having played a starring role in Costa Rica's run to the World Cup quarter-finals.

Real Madrid's intention was to bring Keylor in as Iker Casillas' backup for the following season before moving for David de Gea the year after.

Everything was in place for the goalkeeper to make a switch to Manchester United, that was until a fax machine came to his rescue as De Gea's dream move broke down.

Casillas' exit saw Keylor become Real Madrid's No.1 and, thanks to his consistently decisive displays, he stayed there for the next three years.

As the Champions League medals arrived year after year, Zidane didn't want to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma or Kepa Arrizabalaga. He had Keylor.

The signing of Thibaut Courtois last summer saw the situation change.

Even Zidane's return to the Real Madrid dugout in March wasn't enough to see Keylor reclaim his starting place.

He leaves for Paris Saint-Germain with three Champions League trophies, four Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, a LaLiga Santander title and a Supercopa de Espana.

In his 162 games for the Spanish giants, Keylor conceded just 159 goals.
