Although Barcelona suffered a 2-4 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, their first loss in all competitions this season, Anthony Gordon said the atmosphere in the dressing room remained positive.
He was proud of the resilience the players had shown during a difficult week. In an interview with ESPN, Gordon was asked about the mood in the Barcelona camp following their defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Gordon said: “The mood hasn’t changed. We’ve made a historic start to the season, and we’ll keep doing what we’ve been doing.”
Reflecting on the defeat, Gordon said: “Losing to Paris Saint-Germain was tough because it was a great game, and we were competitive for long periods. But I think, physically, they were able to sustain their intensity for longer than we were.”
The England international also pointed out that the two sides had prepared for the match under different conditions.
“However, I think there are some factors to consider: they rested players before facing us, while we had an extremely difficult week, with travel, matches and other things that people on the outside don’t know about.”
Gordon once again praised the team’s performance at the end, emphasizing that Barça would continue working in the same way.
“I think the character we’ve shown this week has been outstanding, and this is already one of the best performances the team can deliver. So I’m very proud of everything we’ve achieved this week and of our start to the season. We’ll keep working in the same way.”
