Manchester United have opened talks with Getafe over a second loan move for Mason Greenwood.
Greenwood, 22, joined the Spanish club on a season-long loan last September and has gone on to make 32 appearances, scoring 10 goals and registering six assists in the process. Getafe are keen to extend his stay, with the forward under contract at United until June 2025.
In February 2023, Greenwood had charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm - all of which he denied - dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service. Following a six-month-long internal investigation, United decided that it was best for their academy graduate to continue his career away from Old Trafford.
Greenwood's loan spell will come to an end this month after Getafe finish their La Liga campaign, but according to the Athletic, they want him again next season. Chiefs at the Estadio Coliseum are said to be pleased with the 22-year-old's impact since arriving in Spain, although are unlikely to make an effort to sign him permanently.
Getafe negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on fee as part of their original deal with United, who notably have the option to extend Greenwood's contract until 2026. The Red Devils' preference would be a permanent sale but they're open to another loan if their asking price isn't met.
Should United choose to loan Greenwood for 2024-25, they'd likely trigger his extension clause to avoid losing him on a free. Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said back in February that the club would make a "fresh decision" on Greenwood's future, as many of the decision-makers behind his initial loan are no longer at the club, such as CEO Richard Arnold.
Ratcliffe explained: "I can talk about the principle. I am not going to talk about Mason. I am familiar with it. The principle is the important one. We will have other issues going forwards. You are dealing with young people who have not always been brought up in the best circumstances, who have a lot of money and they don’t always have the guidance they should have.
"What we need to do when we have issues like that is understand real effects, not the hype. Then we need to make a fair decision in the light of the club's values. That's what we need to do and that’s how we will deal with it."

You are clearly insane!! Are you perfect in your little useless life that you see no room for second chances in other people's lives. You sound like a loser[100percent]

Both issues are well known. So without going deep, better to loan Greenwood for one season & trigger one year extension to keep his sale on value intact. Personally it is upto to him to decide his future too. Sancho too should loan out for another season, or if right amount is offered, sell him. Dozen players are surely to go.

I think I told you guys earlier on that this Ratcliff of a thing is going to complete the finishing Manchester United to finished and you guys doubted it na. That man is not good enough to manage Manchester United in football terms. Just imagine, someone with right sense will never think of selling all his first team players. No team will be built successfully without blending the new players with the old ones. The name Ratcliff itself sounds like an incurable disease wallahi 😭😭😭😭

put your foot in your hand Mason greenwood and run. so he's now saying you was not brought up right. ok. so that means to say totally you are an outcast. don't sign back no contract or sign no extension. just tell them you want to leave now now.
