Pep Guardiola has expressed his concern over Manchester City's recent record from the penalty spot. Rodri was next in line to take against Tottenham Hotspur and, although he scored, his spot-kick was far from convincing.
The former Atletico Madrid midfielder stepped up to take the penalty - awarded after a foul on Ilkay Gundogan - after the German had missed from 12 yards at Anfield.
"Is Rodri the taker now? No," Guardiola told the BBC.
"I would say I admire the courage to take the penalty, but it was not a good penalty.
"I am not laughing; I am concerned about this.
"We will have a real specialist to take them with quality. We have to practice."
The Manchester City boss had speculated during the week about Ederson taking a penalty. The goalkeeper provided the assist for Gundogan's second goal against Spurs.
"When I talk about Ederson and penalties, you see his assist, 60-70 yards, well then he will score from 12 yards!" Guardiola added.
"For the quality of the shot Ederson is the best, but a penalty is different. I am delighted for Rodri, for the courage to take it.
"I have to reflect. The Champions League is coming, Everton in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup - and we don't have a real specialist to take a penalty, that is the reality."

Question:- Tell me that you are a ManCity fan, without actually telling it. Me:- I don't expect anything, if my team wins a penalty.

When you know the strength and quality of your players, you don't depend on Penalties to win a game.

the way he talks you would think Manchester City really need a penalty taker. but the truth is with the way they are getting goals don't think they urgently need one.
