According to the latest report from Croatian media outlet Jutarnji List, Gvardiol wants to leave because of Guardiola's departure, and Man City's asking price will not be less than €90 million.

Reportedly, why does Gvardiol want to leave Man City? The answer lies in Guardiola's departure; it was Guardiola who pushed for the record-breaking €90 million signing of the Croatian defender in the summer of 2023.

However, Man City will not give up the player easily. They are determined not to show weakness and have already begun preparing a new, more lucrative contract to persuade the Croatian defender to stay at the Etihad Stadium.

Gvardiol's contract with Man City expires in 2028, and he still has two years remaining on his deal. Man City will certainly not ask for less than the fee they paid to sign him from Leipzig (approximately €90 million).
