Harry Redknapp 'certain' over Harry Kane Tottenham transfer decision amid Real Madrid interest

Manchester United and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Harry Kane this summer

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp expects Harry Kane to remain in North London next season.

One of the biggest transfer sagas could be set to unfold as the Spurs talisman is yet to publicly decide his future. An underwhelming 2022-23 campaign resulted in Tottenham failing to qualify for Europe - leading some to suggest Kane’s time could be up.

Just one year on his contract means Daniel Levy is under pressure to resolve the England captain’s future. At 29, there will be few opportunities in the future to cash in on Kane and he could even lose his star asset for nothing next year.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are reportedly expressing interest as they aim to bolster their attack. Erik ten Hag was forced to sign Wout Weghorst on loan as a stop-gap signing but is now primed and ready to buy a long-term option.

Madrid, on the other hand, have just lost Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad and are exploring several alternatives. Kane appears a natural fit for Los Blancos but ex-manager Redknapp, in charge of Spurs when the 29-year-old was an academy player, believes there will only be one outcome.

“I think he’s a cert to stay,” Redknapp told Sky Sports. “That’s my opinion. I don’t see him going. Man City are not there anymore, they have Haaland. Where is he going to go that is better than Tottenham? It’s not easy. He’s not going to go to Arsenal, he’s not going to go to Chelsea.

“Manchester United, is obviously a great club, but so are Tottenham. What a stadium - maybe the best football stadium in the world. Great training facilities… I think he’s sure to stay and he’ll be looking for them to bring a few players in. If they do that, they could be bang in there next year.”
