, June 2: According to well-known journalist Romano, former Girona head coach Míchel is set to sign with Ajax.

Romano stated: Míchel has officially signed today as the new head coach of Ajax; the agreement has been finalized. 🔴⚪️🔐

As reported months ago, the former Girona manager has now completed the official procedures after emerging as Ajax's top target. The deal is done.

In the 2025-26 season, Míchel's Girona finished 19th in La Liga with 41 points and were ultimately relegated to the Segunda División. On May 28 , Girona officially announced the dismissal of head coach Míchel.
