According to Marca, Herrera, Real Zaragoza midfielder and former Manchester United player, recently discussed Manchester City's punishment on a podcast, stating that he believes it was remarkable for Mourinho to achieve a second-place finish in the Premier League with Manchester United given these circumstances.
Yangel Herrera, currently playing for Real Zaragoza, spoke on Mario Suarez's podcast about Manchester City's alleged violations of as many as 115 financial rules and the club's pending official punishment.
The midfielder, who played for Manchester United from 2014 to 2019, took a strong stance. "What happened back then was not normal, and everyone could see it. Rules must be followed. They don't have a huge fanbase... yet they spend money as if they do..." the Basque player said.
He then focused on the players and coaches who have been with the club over the years. "I have nothing against the players and coaches; they put in all the effort for everything they achieved. But if I were a player, I would be angry with those in power because they tainted everything that was accomplished over the years," he added.
As the conversation deepened, he stated that this incident caused "irreparable damage" and mentioned clubs that might have been affected by it in the past. "Tottenham Hotspur was fifth for many years and didn't make it to the Champions League, which has financial implications... As Rooney said, this should set a precedent, deterring those who think, 'I'm going to artificially inflate my financial figures'," he explained.
Herrera also stated that Manchester United could have won the Premier League if Manchester City had been stripped of their titles. "A Premier League title would change everything. Mourinho said that year the runner-up position was also significant... He is indeed a master, never saying useless things. He's like 'The Simpsons,' always predicting what will happen, and he knew what was happening at the time," he concluded.

Man City team played fair and square on the field and won. What's all the nonsense about cheating? Cheating which team? City were simply spellbinding and magnificent thrashing all teams to the crown. The team did their job. Losers could eat up themselves in jealousy and envy. The fact remains that City collected their crowns and rejoiced together with their fans. Nothing will take those away, you jealous miscreants. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You know nothing about the rules governing the game. Do you? Yes, the players won the games on the field but the money aquire from the financial malpractice was used to purchase those players, paid them and their staffs. Now, without that money City could not be able to purchase that amount of quality players they had hence they would not have won those titles then.So that's why it's called cheating. You understand?

United are still crap!! 16 position, 1.3 bill in debt, and owners that just cypher money from the club. I’d rather be City fan than a debacle of a football club! Good luck finding a new manager
you will be relegated

When did Herera become one of the appeal panelists. He was never relevant and wants to get that through Manchester city. It's a pity. These are exactly what Manchester city and it's owners have been crying against. Why can't every hater and opponent wait for the final verdict and stop poisoning the minds of judges. These are sensitive issues and should be treated as that. Every accused person or entity charged before a court of law is deemed innocent until proven guilty, which obviously includes all available processes.
