'I can't get anything over that geezer!': Jude Bellingham jokes over life in Erling Haaland's shadow

Jude Bellingham has said he can't 'get anything over' former teammate Erling Haaland, after discovering he was the second teenager to score in the first three Champions League games of a campaign behind the Norwegian.

The Englishman scored one and made one as team captain in Borussia Dortmund's 4-1 win at Sevilla on Wednesday night.

It made the 19-year-old a record breaker, as the first English teen to score in his opening trio of Champions League matchdays in a given season, and the second ever.

When posed with this teaser after the Sevilla match, Bellingham initially told the reporter he thought it might be Kylian Mbappe, before being told 'you know him very well'.

He wryly smiled as he said 'Erling', in reference to his former Dortmund teammate, before the Norwegian's high-profile move to Manchester City over the summer.

Bellingham added: 'Of course. I can't get anything over that geezer at the minute, I swear to God. It sums him up'.

The former Birmingham City player angled a shot into the far corner on 41 minutes, making him the youngest captain to be a Champions League goalscorer. He also became the first English teenager to start a game as captain of their side in the history of the tournament.

As previously reported by MailOnline, his performance won the plaudits of BT pundit Rio Ferdinand after the game, who said: 'What he's doing in his position at his age, we haven't seen.

'The best of our generation, Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes, them guys... Vieira, Roy Keane, they weren't doing this.

'He still has to go on and prove it over a long period of time but they were not doing what he is doing right now, influencing games at this level, captaining a team at this level, he is the full package.

'Mentally, this kid's a beast, no doubts about him.'

Dortmund are second in their Champions League group with six points from three games, behind Manchester City, but five points clear of Sevilla, who fired their boss Julen Lopetegui after the defeat.
