Diego Maradona said Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is not a leader, according to the Argentine newspaper Olé.
"I love him with all my heart, he is phenomenon, but they want to make him a leader & he will never going to be because he will always stay in his sporting, football and his family world."said the ex-football player.
It is not the first time that Maradona criticizes his compatriot, seeing the media flooded with his comments about Messi: "it’s useless to make a leader out of a man who goes to the bathroom 20 times before a game." he said in an interview last October.

Well, to all the comments praising Messi so much and talking crap about Maradona, he never undermined how good Messi is, he just said that he is not a leader type player on the pitch or the type of person to be a leader, that comes from a man who knows Messi and has worked with him for a long time... And somehow all of you who never met Messi and have never been a football player for a big club know this better than Maradona? I mean Messi is a great one of a kind player but i think Maradona is right when it comes to him not being a leader. And that is for the simple fact that he does not communicate on the pitch as a leader or a captain should, especially when the score is not in Barcas or Argentinas favour.

Messi can not be compared with Maradona at all. With all those trophies Messi has and he is still active with many more years to come. Maradona is a joker. Maradona scored world cup by hand and the whole world knows that.
