There were rumors claiming that he had problems with Messi, but Villa dismissed the talk.
"There was no controversy with Messi. I never had any problems with a partner or a rival."
When asked by another former teammate at Barcelona and current partner at Vissel Kobe, Andres Iniesta, Villa said: "It has been a pleasure to have enjoyed the last few months of my career with him."
