Ibrahim Diarra aims for Barcelona first team training in July

According to Sport, Ibrahim Diarra is striving to join Flick's first-team squad on July 13 for training at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

The Malian youngster was plagued by injuries last season, having previously experienced his first summer training camp with the first team, making him one of the most anticipated candidates this summer.

The African player suffered a rectus femoris muscle injury in his initial training sessions, a setback that also prevented him from joining the team on their Asian tour. During that trip, players like Toni, Guiu Fernández, Darwich, and Jofre Torrents all had opportunities.

Ibrahim Diarra was originally one of the most anticipated players because of his excellent performance in the final stages of the youth team season and his heroic role in the Juvenil A team's UEFA Youth League triumph under Juliano Belletti.

The Malian youngster later took months to recover and return, but luck was not on his side; he suffered another relapse and had to undergo surgery, adding another five months to his recovery time. Fortunately, he returned to play for Barça Atlètic at the end of this season.

Diarra is now determined to return in the best possible condition and seize this new opportunity to the best of his ability. If all goes well, he will start fresh on July 13. He is currently on vacation in Bamako, the capital of Mali, and will return to Barcelona soon to begin a personalized recovery program, preparing to report in the best possible shape on July 13.

He will return with other reserve and youth team players who have already been called up, including Ebrima Tounkara, Hamza Abdellah Karim, Oriol Guiu, and Oscar Gistau, who were promoted in the context of this special U-19 World Cup.

This summer is crucial for the 19-year-old Diarra, and this season will be a key year for him as he hopes to secure consistent playing time and truly take off at Barça. His contract runs until 2028.
