Iniesta: I remember winning my last La Liga title like it was yesterday

Andres Iniesta has been doing some reminiscing during lockdown.

It's exactly two years since the midfielder lifted his last LaLiga Santander title with Barcelona before moving to Japan.

"I remember it like it was yesterday," Iniesta told the Catalan club's YouTube channel.

"I remember that I played a few minutes and the whole of Riazor [Deportivo La Coruna's stadium] stood up to applaud, and they were getting relegated.

"It was very emotional for me and very painful for them and I'll never forget it.

"The worst thing [about being in Japan] is that you keep missing being home.

"We've found ourselves in a very calm, comfortable city that, other than the distance, is similar to Barcelona.

"The best thing is how they've welcomed us; we've loved it on a family and professional level."

In March, it was announced that Rakuten TV would be showing a documentary on Iniesta in spring 2020.

"Seeing as it's my life, I took it very seriously," he said.

"I've always liked to keep an eye on things, how the team did, as much as possible.

"At every moment, [I liked to see] what kind of interview [they were doing], where they were.

"This project excited us a lot and they let me participate when I could.

"Year or a year and a bit has passed since it was said that we were doing it."
