Is FC Bayern catching a new goalkeeper on the transfer market? Giorgi Mamardashvili is apparently in the focus of the German record champions. A first offer to Valencia FC could probably follow shortly.

According to the portal "Georgian Footy", it is likely that FC Bayern will contact the players' side this week.

The 22-year-old still has a long-term contract with Valencia FC until 2027. For this reason, the Munich team would have to transfer a high transfer fee to Spain if the keeper is to actually play at Säbener Straße this summer.

"Georgian Footy" speculates about an initial offer from FC Bayern. This could therefore amount to around 30 million euros. A proud sum considering that the German record champions want to rely on team captain Manuel Neuer between the posts again.

Will FC Bayern give away two goalkeepers?

With Alexander Nübel and Yann Sommer, FC Bayern will most likely give up two goalkeepers at the same time. According to Sport Bild, VfB Stuttgart and an unnamed club "from other European countries" are interested in Nübel. According to consistent media reports, Sommer is on Inter Milan's list.

Thus, FC Bayern could use a young, developable goalkeeper behind Neuer and substitute Sven Ulreich. However, the German champions' priority is actually the search for a new centre-forward and a defensive midfielder.

Mamardashvili has played his way into the focus of other clubs with his performances at Valencia FC last season. The Georgian international made a total of 42 appearances in 2022/23 for the traditional Primera División club.

Whether FC Bayern is really serious remains to be seen for the time being.
