Atletico Madrid's game against Getafe on Wednesday will be one that Joao Felix is eagerly awaiting. The Portuguese has been experiencing something of a scoring drought, and he'll be hoping that ends in the final game of the year.
Although he scored against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Joao Felix hasn't scored in LaLiga Santander since November 7.
On that date, he scored twice against Cadiz, but 295 minutes have passed since without him finding the net. Barcelona, Valencia, Real Valladolid, Real Madrid and Elche have all prevented him from scoring.
The forward started the season excellently with goals and assists early on, but things have slowed down. He has, though, had his minutes reduced due to Diego Simeone's rotations recently.
Luis Suarez's return should have freed him up somewhat, but the reality couldn't be further from that. The Uruguayan's comeback has in fact only added to his difficulties in front of goal and has seen his preferred partner, Angel Correa, struggle for a place in the side.
Atletico will host Getafe in a good run of form, and they'll be hopeful that Joao Felix can find his name back on the scoresheet once again.
