After missing out yet again on Luis Enrique's list for the Spanish national team, Jordi Alba is determined to earn the respect he believes he deserves.
At the moment, the left back is experiencing a strange situation. From registering one of his best performances in the Barcelona shirt at Wembley, being responsible for all four goals of the Catalan side to missing out on Spain's call-up list for the upcoming games.
He put in an exhibition against Tottenham Hotspurs, linking up excellently with Lionel Messi, as both players understand each other perfectly without even having to look at each other.
This season, the left-back has scored one goal and given four assists but has also participated in other goals such as the ones against Huesca at the Camp Nou.
Yet despite these excellent performances, Luis Enrique has not called up the Blaugrana star to his list and the coach has not given any explanations on his decision.
Many think it is due to the bad relationship that existed between the player and the coach during Lucho's last year as the head coach of Barcelona.
However, others think it is because the coach does not want to put an excessive amount of demand on the footballer, as Alba plays in almost every match for the Catalan giants and does not have a replacement in the club.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Jordi Alba will feature in Barcelona's clash against Valencia, the club in which the player spent three seasons at.
But he will not have a good time at the Estadio Mestalla, as the Los Che fans have not forgiven him for his departure and it is demonstrated every time he steps foot on the field.
Last season, after scoring the goal that leveled the match, Alba complained about the treatment he received from the fans.
"The treatment I receive here is not good, I gave my all for Valencia and they have to understand that I left to go to my home," the player explained after the match.
"It's a pity that they receive me like this because I am very grateful to Valencia.
"I do not ask you to applaud me, just have a little more respect, as I do for them."

I've never understood why Alba can't play as a wing back in a 3-4-3. His average position is probably closer to that of a wingback anyway.

Alba doesn’t have to worry, as Messi didn’t do after missing out on Fifa’s podium, they already know they are the best in their positions so. No worries boys let’s get to work, Enrique has his own reasons, its an advantage for Barcelona though, we have some upcoming heavy fixtures. National team isn’t priority for now
