Jose Mourinho watched his Benfica goalkeeper score the decisive goal to secure a place in the Champions League play‑offs against Real Madrid
Jose Mourinho was left stunned when his goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin scored a header in Benfica's 4-2 Champions League win over Real Madrid. On the losing side was former Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen, with whom Mourinho and his family have a close relationship.
Approaching the Dutch centre‑back in the tunnel afterwards, the Portuguese boss summed up the game perfectly with an explicit 'F****** hell.'
Speaking to reporters after the game, Mourinho explained his encounter with Huijsen, saying: "Dean, he was my player in Roma, he's friends with my kids, the families, they know each other well so I have a good relationship with Dean.
"Just speaking about the game and of course the kid is disappointed, but I was telling him, you are lucky to lose only 4-2 because it could have been more."
The victory, however, was not enough for Benfica to automatically qualify for the knockout stages, but it did at least guarantee them a place in the play‑offs.

It was a whirlwind of emotions for the home fans, who were also relying on results elsewhere.
Leading 3-2 at the time, the Portuguese giants needed one more goal to avoid exiting the competition despite beating Real, with Marseille clinging to 25th place in the final seconds at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
Fredrik Aursnes then whipped in a free‑kick, and Trubin was there to meet it, nodding the ball past Thibaut Courtois.
The stadium erupted in euphoria, and Mourinho celebrated with a ballboy on the touchline.
"For me, everything is deja vu, but this one, it's the first time," the 'Special One' said, before expressing his confidence in Turbin: "We knew he could do it, we knew.
"We were losing in Porto a couple of weeks ago, and in the last minute he went there and almost scored, so we know the big guy is capable of this.
"The quality of the delivery is the most important thing, you have to put the ball in the right area but it's an amazing goal for the guy."
Real's defeat also dropped them into the play‑offs under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa, and the two sides could meet again for a place in the last 16.
