A new chapter is beginning for Junior Firpo, who has completed a move from Real Betis to Barcelona.

The left-back is very grateful to the Andalusian club for helping him take his first steps in professional football and he has published a farewell letter to the club and its fans.

"Real Betis has been my home ever since I started out here," his letter started.

"You can't imagine the gratitude I have for the affection I have been shown.

"I never thought that this moment would come so soon, but it has and today is the day to say goodbye.

"I say goodbye after sharing a dressing room with some marvellous people.

"I got to play in Europe and together we defeated the best teams in Spain.

"Thank you to those who were with me along the way, especially my family and friends.

"They are here now and will be later.

"But, above all, they were there before.

"Thank you to my tutors, coaches and to Jose Juan Romero.

"Of course, I also thank Quique Setien and his coaching staff.

"On February 12, 2018, I fulfilled my dream of debuting and I'll never forget it.

"The night before, in the hotel, Joaquin told me to be prepared in case I had to play.

"I didn't believe it, but he was right.

"I played and we won 1-0, with my first league assist.

"Our paths will surely cross again.

"I am now another Real Betis fan."
