Juventus are reportedly considering an approach for Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane with Andrea Pirlo's position as manager under serious threat.
Juve have endured an extremely difficult season, sitting 10 points off Serie A leaders Inter Milan with just 11 matches remaining while they recently crashed out at the last-16 stage of the Champions League.
The Italian giants are set to relinquish their Serie A crown, and it was recently reported that Pirlo has just one match left to save his job after a shock defeat to Benevento last weekend.
And according to AS, the Old Lady have made Zidane their priority target to replace Pirlo as they look to take advantage over the uncertainty of the Frenchman's future at Madrid.
Question marks are lingering over Zidane's position in the Spanish capital following an inconsistent season - which sees them positioned third in LaLiga, six points off leaders Atletico with 10 matches left.
Zidane enjoyed five successful seasons as a player for Juventus between 1996 to 2001, featuring 212 times for the club as he won two Serie A titles.
But Juve will reportedly face competition for Zidane's signature, with AS also claiming that France are eyeing him as Didier Deschamps' successor.
Zidane's contract as manager of Madrid expires next summer, and he didn't rule out the possibility of leaving in a recent press conference.
The Frenchman said: 'I don't look any further than the day to day. I don't plan anything.'
Meanwhile, despite talk that Pirlo could soon be axed as Juventus boss, vice-president Pavel Nedved insisted the under-fire manager - alongside Cristiano Ronaldo - will be at the club next season.
Reports in Spain have recently linked Ronaldo with a sensational return to Real Madrid this summer.
When speaking about Pirlo's future, Nedved insisted the club's former player still retains the full faith of the board.
'Pirlo is and will be the Juventus coach, that's 100 per cent sure,' Nedved told DAZN.
'We have begun a new project with him, knowing we would face difficulties. We wanted to do something more, but we could not manage to do so.
'We are calm, Pirlo has everything to become a great coach.'

Juventus are just desperate at the moment 1.They signed CR7 to win CL,sacked Allegri for not winning it,the sacked Sarri for getting knocked out of CL and will now sack Pirlo for both not winning the league and getting knocked out to Porto, and are planning to sell CR7 as if it's his fault. 2. All Juventus needs to do right now is sign talented young players who fits the style of manager they trust, build the squad which can challenge Inter in 2 years time. 3.Poch was ideal candidate but they gave the job to inexperienced Pirlo,I feel bad for Pirlo though,I really liked him as a player hopefully he joins a club where he can get good experience, maybe a club with lower expectation and more stability. 4.Zidane might be the worst possible candidate as he doesn't play youth,he might get result in short term but he is horrible for the long term, and why the hell would he join Juve if they are planning to sell Ronaldo. 5.They are better off by having someone like Pirlo as manager than someone like Zidane,Allegri, atleast even if he doesn't win something he still wants to work with younger players, their President Agnelli is clueless.

even if Zidane ends up coming he won't succeed at juve for 2 major reason - Juve will never win anything with this shitty midfield players that they currently have and unless they change which seems to never happen. 2nd - Zidane is a great coach and there's no doubt about it but he himself is suffering at real when teams end up parking the 5 or 6 line in the defense and we've seen this in this season which is why they lost points....but he can benefit only if he has players like Marcelo and some great wingers who can cross to Ronaldo and he'll take it from there...his won before with Italian teams but that was when he had ronaldo so coming here might change this...but that doesn't guarantees that he will have good wing backs or wing fronts cause currently we have shitty alex Sandro and kulu
