Chelsea transfer news: German forward Kai Havertz is edging closer to a Stamford Bridge exit with Arsenal the latest team linked to a move amid cooling interest from Real Madrid

Chelsea forward Kai Havertz is facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge this summer. The German has two years left on his current contract but could be sold to raise funds for Mauricio Pochettino's transfer plans.

Real Madrid hold an interest in Havertz but are yet to make an official bid for the 23-year-old. The Spanish side are searching for a replacement for Karim Benzema, who recently joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

Havertz was Chelsea's joint-top goalscorer in all competitions this season with nine goals - level with summer signing Raheem Sterling. The 23-year-old joined the club in 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 32 goals and assisting a further 15 in 139 appearances.

Madrid are said to be also monitoring Harry Kane's situation at Tottenham Hotspur. The England captain's contract in north London expires next summer and he's been strongly linked with a big-money move to Manchester United and Los Blancos.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and one other unnamed club could rival Madrid for Havertz's signature this summer. The Gunners are looking to bolster Mikel Arteta's squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.

With that said, football.london has rounded up all the latest news on Havertz's future.

Arsenal monitoring Havertz

A report from The Telegraph has stated Arsenal are monitoring Kai Havertz's situation at Stamford Bridge with one other unnamed club interested in signing him. It is unlikely that Madrid or any other club that Havertz would be interested in joining will pay more than £50million for his signature this summer - leaving Chelsea with a huge decision to make.

The Blues have set an asking price of £70million to allow the 23-year-old to leave the club this summer.

Shock U-turn

Real Madrid have made a U-turn on their decision to sign Kai Havertz this summer.

According to Marca, Carlo Ancelotti's side have dropped their interest in the forward and will focus their attention on landing Harry Kane instead.

Transfer 'agreement'

Chelsea have reached an 'agreement' with Kai Havertz over his future, according to reports.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed it is becoming increasingly likely that the 23-year-old will move to the Santiago Bernabeu after agreeing with the forward that he will be allowed to leave this summer.

Chelsea asking price

Amid Real Madrid's increased interest, Chelsea have reportedly slapped a €60million (£52million) price tag on Havertz's head in anticipation of an official move for the Spanish giants.

The Blues signed the German international for £75.8million from Bayer Leverkusen three years ago, meaning they face losing close to £25million.

There are also reports that Chelsea will demand £75million for Havertz, as per The Guardian.

Havertz contact

Real Madrid have stepped up their efforts to sign Havertz. According to SPORT1, talks are ongoing between Los Blancos and Havertz's agents despite negotiations with Chelsea not yet taking place.

Pochettino stance

New Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino reportedly sees Havertz as an 'essential' member of his rebuilding project at Stamford Bridge, according to Spanish outlet AS.

Pochettino is said to want to keep all the best players when he arrives on July 1.

Harry Kane ultimatum

Real Madrid will look to pursue Havertz if they fail to prise Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Kane's contract expires in 2024 and has been heavily linked with a move away this summer. The England captain has remained tight-lipped over his future despite interest from Manchester United.

Real Madrid interest

Real Madrid reportedly hold "concrete" interest in Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The report claims that Chelsea would be open to discussing Havertz's move to the Spanish capital. Los Blancos are seeking out a replacement for Karim Benzema, who left the club after 14 years.
