Harry Kane will not travel to Barcelona for Tottenham's final pre-season friendly on Tuesday night as the striker urges a quick resolution to his Bayern Munich transfer saga.
Spurs rejected Bayern's 'final' offer of £86million for the England star on Monday but it is understood the German champions could return with another bid.
Kane, 30, has set his own personal deadline of this Sunday - when Spurs open their Premier League campaign at Brentford - for Bayern to agree a deal, or he'll commit for the season.
He has one year remaining on his present Tottenham contract and so would be able to walk away for nothing next summer.
Kane is one of several Spurs players who featured in Sunday's 5-1 friendly win over Shakhtar Donetsk not flying to Barcelona for the Joan Gamper Trophy game.
He netted four times against the Ukrainians and received a standing ovation from the crowd, who chanted 'we want you to stay.'
Mail Sport revealed last month that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was seeking around £120m for Kane but was willing to accept a fee closer to £100m given his contract situation.
Mail Sport understands that if Kane were to leave Spurs, he would prefer his boyhood club to get a fee out of it.
Sources have indicated that from Bayern's last offer, the guaranteed portion, believed to be in the region of £73million, was deemed too short of Kane's worth.
In response to Bayern's deadline of Friday night for Spurs to make a decision on their offer, Levy flew to the United States - not exactly the reaction they desired.
It is understandable why he is so keen to keep hold of his talisman, even with just a year left on his contract.
Spurs will hope that progress under new manager Postecoglou might persuade Kane to sign a contract extension with a release clause before he can leave on a free next summer.
Despite Kane performing a lingering lap of honour after Spurs' win over Shakhtar on Sunday, Postecoglou said he is planning to start the season with him up front.
'There's no doubt I'd use Harry,' said Postecoglou. 'He's a fantastic striker, one of the world's best. The way the team plays will help him. He loves scoring goals, we created a load of chances today and he was the beneficiary.'

great business for bayern.. they asked barca for 50+ for a 34year old lewy. 100m is the least tottenham should collect from them.

Very high bro. Wondering why Bayern is even offering so much money
Because Thomas Tuchel (another high) wants him at any cost. i have a bad feeling that both Harry Kane and Thomas Tuchel will be a flop this season. But i don’t want to see such things are happening to Bayern.

Finally some good move.Force the greedy Levi to accept a reasonable fee.Bayern are willing to pay even above Kanes transfer market value in his last year of contract that shows how much they actually trust his abilities. And Spurs fan should understand that Kane could return in the future as well but as a legend of football don't make him waste his career.

The Price tag is good , cause didn’t Byren ask Barca 50+ mil for Lewa when he had just 1 year left on his contract ?? And lewa was 33 by than …. So 100 mil for kane is good. If they don’t have the money they just need to admit it …… rather than complain about the price tag
Oh! that's true. Something which I didn't consider

Kane isn't worth £86m considering his age and the duration left on his contract. I want his contract to run down. that fee is too much. wondering why Bayern is even offering so much. They can get him as a free agent

I doubt it, if Kane can go to Bayern on a free transfer. He will rather stay in England that to travel to Germany.
If he wants to become as great as lewandowski/suarez/benzema, leaving for bayern is the only option. He can’t play in any english clubs cause all of them have strikers, real madrid want mbappe, barca have victor roque and lewandowski. Psg have gonçalo ramos so bayern is the only option. If he doesn’t move then bayern will go for dusan vlahovic (who would gladly move to bayern) and no longer need him.

A player who’s already 30yrs and has one year left on his contract should be sold for more than 100mil? Daniel Levy must be high

I'm convinced that Bayern have called Levy and assure him that they will pay the required fee ...think they are discussing the payment and add-ons modality otherwise he will be playing I'm pretty sure.
